Our migratory shorebirds have arrived from their long journeys and are busy feeding and resting in The Sanctuary. Join us to view these birds just after the high tide at Thompson Beach where they will be roosting ready for a busy morning of foraging on the freshly exposed mudflats.
FAIBS has spotting scopes available for use and will help with identification if you are new to shorebirds and are looking for some tips.
What to bring: binoculars / camera if you have them, insect repellant, rubber boots or shoes that can get wet, snacks and water, sunscreen, hat, long sleeves.
We meet at the corner of Petrel Crescent and the Esplanade, Thompson Beach, at 8am. Look for the FAIBS flags.
